Animal Kingdom Mothers:
Giant Pandas - Female Pandas can breed in a 2-3 day period once a year with a single ovulation. Giant Pandas' reproductive timeframe are from 4 to 20 years old. Although female Pandas give birth to two young, only survives the majority of the times and she takes care of her young for 1 to 3 years. Therefore, Pandas at best can give birth only once every two years. This low birth rate and long care period has contributed to its endangered status.

Giant Oysters - The most prolific mother in the animal kingdom, the female Giant Oyster gives birth to over 100 million young in its lifetime on average. Over 99% do not make it to adulthood due to predators and the environment. However, their high birthrate has ensured they are millions of Giant Oysters in the world.

Rabbits - Mother rabbits will spend their entire day away from their young only returning to feed them for several minutes before to departing again. She does this to avoid leading predators to her defenseless young plus she herself has minimal ability to protect her young.

Giraffes - Mommy giraffes are pregnant for over a 1 year (400 days) before giving birth. They give birth to their young while standing up. Thus, look out below because baby giraffes enter the world with a six foot drop. Because of this long drop, more baby giraffes are injured or killed as are eaten by predators in their first weeks of life. Mother giraffes do not sit down or lay down to give birth because the drop out effect helps to burst the embroynic sac and they would be extremely vulnerable to predators as it takes time and a lot of energy to get back up.

Great White Shark - The Great White will give birth to many offspring who must immediately swim away from its mother or be eaten by her as she will be very hungry at that point.
